Roller Blinds

This style of window furnishing has stood the test of time but now with so many more options. It is both minimalistic and modern. If you don’t want to make a bold statement with your window furnishings then this is a great way to go. They are discreet and can make a room feel more open and spacious.

Have a look at the information on our Motorised Roller Blinds.

There are 3 densities of fabric:

Sunscreen Blinds

Sunscreen – clear vision out during the day and cannot see in from outside during the day HOWEVER it is the opposite at night with the light on inside.

Sunscreen blinds are both smart and efficient. In many ways they are the contemporary option for nets. They block out up to 95% of UV rays protecting your furniture and carpet from the harsh NZ sun. While you can see through them during the day it is very difficult for those outside to see inside however they do not provide privacy at night when the lights are on inside. Sunscreens are available in many different colours and textures to suit your colour scheme.

Light Filtering Blinds

Light Filtering – Very little or no vision outside during the day but light comes through the fabric and very little to no vision in from the outside at any time (You can tell if a light is on inside)

Light filtering fabrics are a great “in between” fabric, not as sheer as sunscreen but not blockout either. This style fabric will give you privacy through the day but still provide light into the room through the fabric. At night time it will be clear that the lights are on inside but no clear vision through the fabric. Light filtering fabric vary in density from range to range.

Blockout Blinds

Blockout – blocks out all light and vision (Other than the gap around the outside)

Blockout fabrics are just that, blockout, no light comes through the fabric at all. However because no light comes through the fabric it does accentuate the light coming in around the fabric and therefore doesn’t provide total darkness in the room, which may be an issue if you are light sensitive in the early morning. But they do give excellent privacy day and night.

Choosing which density really depends on what you want to achieve at what time of the day or night.
